Scott
Crowley began his cello studies at the age of six. He attended
various summer festivals and music camps, such as the prestigious Young
Artist Orchestra at Boston University’s Tanglewood
institute. After completing his musical training at the
University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of music, Mr. Crowley moved to Florida to further his studies at the University of South Florida, under the direction of Scott Kluksdahl. He is a cellist of all styles, having played in various orchestras, operas, musicals, and even rock bands, throughout the country. He is currently pursuing a career as a solo cellist in the areas of Christian and Classical music. He performs witht he off Broadway musicals, The Rock and the Rabbi, and The Witnesses. While in Florida, he has sat principal for the Southwest Florida Symphony, Northwest Florida Symphony, Sinfonia Gulf Coast, and The Villages Philharmonic Orchestra. Some of the other orchestras he has performed with include the New World Symphony, Florida Orchestra, Mobile Symphony, Pensacola Symphony, Tallahassee Symphony, Valdosta Symphony, Savannah Philharmonic, Jacksonville Symphony, Columbus Symphony, Florida Lakes Symphony, Charlotte Symphony, Space Coast Pops, Brevard Symphony, and the South Florida Symphony. In addition, he has performed with both Opera Tampa, Opera Naples and Palm Beach Opera. Commercially, Mr. Crowley is very much in demand and has performed with numerous well-known groups. Some of those artists include Blood, Sweat and Tears, Nova Era, The Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Manheim Steamroller, Mary Wilson (of the Supremes), Frank Sinatra Jr., Tito Puente Jr., John Secada and many others. In addition to his performing career, Mr. Crowley is a cello teacher and pedagogue. His mission is to make Classical music more accessible for young people, and to eventually publish his own book on cello technique.
